Join Our Organizing Committee!

The New Mexico Black History Organizing Committee was established in 2010 and we are always seeking creative and innovative people to join us. Committee meetings vary throughout the year and become more regular in December when the committee meets bi-weekly to prepare for our annual Black History Festival in February. If you are interested in learning more about the organizing committee please email or fill out the form below. Be sure to include your experience in community organizing and what you believe you can bring to the committee.

shawna1I have had the pleasure of serving as Chairperson for the past two years.  This experience has been valuable to me both personally and professionally.  Personally, I am committed to being of service to my community.  I see the value in service both tangible and intangible in terms of improvements in the quality of life in New Mexico.  From a professional standpoint,  the people I’ve met these past two years have helped me develop  strong relationships  and bonds that fuel my commitment to do my part to make New Mexico a better place to live, work and raise a family.
